About the Project

Incorporated as a non-profit

The Valley Forge Aquatic Center, Inc. was formed and registered with the state of Pennsylvania as a non-profit entity in the spring of 2018. We are currently pursuing federal 501 (c) (3) status.

Hired a Consultant

We contracted with the Isaac Sports Group, internationally recognized as the leading authority on public-private partnerships for natatorium construction, to examine the scope and design of the facility, sources of funding, timeline for construction and long-term viability of the project. The results were definitive: the greater Philadelphia region and specifically the Valley Forge area are grossly underserved by existing pools, and demand for the new aquatic center will be very high.

The need is great
Current aquatic facilities in the Greater Philadelphia region are small, outdated and do not adequately benefit the broader aquatic interests outside of the swimming community. Furthermore, there are limited aquatic facilities to keep up with the growing demand of the Middle Atlantic swimming population. Our mission is to build a facility that will properly serve the needs of all aquatic sports - from recreational to elite levels - as well as the community at large.

Progress is being made to turn this project into a reality

Myrtha Pool Evaluated

We have been in discussions with Myrtha Pools to purchase the 50 meter pool that will be used for the 2020 Olympic Trials in Omaha, NE. The modular pool will be reconfigured for our use.

Formed a Board

Seven committed private citizens have organized a Board of Directors, electing Phoenixville entrepreneur Dan Cooke as President. The board members are parents of swimmers and sport enthusiasts themselves, and most of them run their own successful businesses. Each brings special talents to the Board and a passion for youth development through aquatics sports.

Formed a partnership with Phoenixville Area School District

A 16 acre parcel of land was leased from the school district to build the aquatic center. The details of this partnership are explained in more detail in the press release below.
